Natasha is a local Sports Massage Therapist in Stowmarket. Sports Massage refers to a soft tissue treatment that can assist with many types of conditions and injuries. It involves the assessment of muscles and connective tissue of the body to help prevent and manage dysfunction, pain, or physical disorders.
Contrary to what is generally believed Sports Massage is a therapy that can benefit everybody not only Sportspeople. It is ideal not only to treat injuries and prevent them but also to release tension and pain.
A variety of techniques are used in our therapy, such as stretches, trigger points, traction, or mobilizations. All of them are combined as soft tissue manipulation through massage, an important purpose of Sports Massage is to increase range of movement, flexibility, and reduce pain. In our Sports Massage clinic in Stowmarket, our sports therapist will give you supportive advice on exercise and training. Sports massage helps you to obtain a better awareness of the body, symmetry, and posture.
HOW CAN SPORTS MASSAGE BENEFIT ME? With hard training, athletes are prone to developing overuse injuries. Regular sports massage is a great way to help avoid developing injuries. As athletes train regularly – tension can begin to build up in the muscles which may then affect the joint mobility. This may then cause excessive stress on the ligaments, joints and tendons, and the muscular system itself.
If left undiagnosed this may eventually lead to pain and affect the athlete’s performance. A skilled masseur can detect these tissue changes through touch and by manipulating and mobilizing the soft tissues they can help restore balance to the affected area.
